i was so excited when i received a message from an old client that moved out-of-state a year and a half ago. they were coming to town for a visit + wanted to book a family session…so i was finally able to meet their new little one in person! i had only seen how beautiful she was + how grown up her big sister was getting in pictures. when they broke the news to me awhile back that they were moving out-of-state i was so sad that i wouldn’t get to be their family photographer anymore….i had photographed them on 3 separate occasions, including big sister’s newborn session. so i’m thinking maybe they should just plan an annual texas trip + we can do their family session each time they are here 😉 yes, i like that plan! or better yet, just move back to texas!
you’d never be able to tell from the photos, but oh my goodness it was cold the day of this session (back in december)! this was my first time meeting this sweet family + i give them props for braving the cold + wind. i wasn’t even sure i’d be able to click the shutter button on my camera because my fingers were so numb from the cold…haha! but we found some shelter from the wind with some pretty light + moved along as quickly as we could.
this was a session that was long overdue. and of all days, for some reason i chose today to blog their session, even though i did this session all the way back in december. well, i just happened to look at the date just now as i was typing this + realized that today is this beautiful couple’s wedding anniversary! and oddly enough, that is exactly how i met them! remember back in the wedding planning days, an online forum called the knot? is that even still a popular thing?? i have no clue…haha! but back then it sure was. and that is exactly how i met bridgett + wayne. it just so happened, that they were getting married at the same venue as us…and using almost all the same exact vendors. and we were both planning from distances….i was in canada at the time + she was in connecticut, but we were both getting married in the dallas fort worth area. we hit it off instantly + have been friends ever since….that was 10 years ago! we have been through all life’s big events together…weddings, babies, career changes….and FINALLY we were able to meet up over the christmas holidays while they were here visiting family so that i could take some photos of their beautiful family. we were blessed with beautiful weather that day…okay okay….it was a little bit chilly, but beautiful for a december day! thank you so much bridgett + wayne for trusting me to capture these memories for your sweet family. i can’t wait to see you all again! and happy happy anniversary!!! xoxo
